Escola Les Ciències

Escola Les Ciències is a public center for early childhood and primary education located in Badalona. It offers the first cycle of early childhood education (0-3 years), the second cycle of early childhood education (3-6 years), and the primary stage (6-12 years). Teaching is conducted in Catalan and Spanish. It has a school cafeteria service and an AFA (association of families of students). School materials are shared: families make a contribution of €80 per course to acquire the materials used by the students, with the aim of learning to share and respect common goods. The center is located near bus stops and a metro station.

The center organizes various complementary activities. It conducts outings and excursions to natural environments, such as Cim d'Àligues (to observe birds of prey) or Font de l'Amigó (circular route through the Serra Marina). It also visits museums and institutions, such as MUHBA (medieval history), MMACA (mathematics, with workshops on Leonardo domes) or KBR (photography, with exhibitions like that of Helen Levitt). It participates in cultural meetings, such as the Trobada de Dansaires, and in sports events, such as the I Duatló Ciutat de Badalona, where the school is the main location. Additionally, students participate in the Festes de Maig, where they learn about the figure of the Dimoni and create their own version. In the classroom, projects are carried out such as the study of electrical circuits, working with fractions, and the protagonist activity in I4, which promotes oral expression and listening. In the initial cycle, learning spaces are used for language and mathematics areas. Workshops are also held at the escola del mar on plankton and buoyancy, with observation of aquatic organisms. The center provides information about the enrollment process, available aids (including those for the cafeteria), and organizes open house days.
