El Torreon

CEIP El Torreón is a public school for Early Childhood and Primary Education in Arroyomolinos, in the Community of Madrid, with Spanish as the vehicular language. It has a secretariat, management, and head of studies, which are open to the public from Monday to Friday in the morning and, on Tuesdays, also in the afternoon. It has a virtual classroom and uses the tools of the educational platform of the Community of Madrid. There are bus stops near the center.

The faculty consists of specialists in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Music, Physical Education, Foreign Language English, Therapeutic Pedagogy, Hearing and Language, and Catholic Religion, mostly with permanent positions at the center, which allows for continuity in projects and pedagogical guidelines. The center also has an Educational and Psychopedagogical Guidance Team that analyzes the global and individual needs of the students and identifies students with specific learning difficulties.

Among its programs are the Reading Plan, the Library, and the School Newspaper, which share objectives such as enhancing reading comprehension, sparking interest in reading, fostering a reflective and critical attitude through reading and writing, promoting the everyday use of the library for reading, research, consultation, cooperative work, and loans, and bringing reading promotion beyond the school environment. The school also publishes its own magazine. Throughout the school year, meetings are held with families from different levels, from Early Childhood to sixth grade of Primary, and a welcome service is offered for the month of September.
