Los Exploradores

Los Exploradores Nursery is a private center located in Algete that structures its educational project around respectful pedagogies, drawing on the contributions of María Montessori and Emmi Pikler. The center is based on the idea that the child is competent from birth and supports their natural development by combining both approaches: from Pikler, it incorporates respect for free movement, stable emotional bonds, and individual rhythms, and from Montessori, it provides a prepared environment where the student can choose, explore, and focus with materials that promote their independence. The school caters to babies from four months and covers the first cycle of early childhood education (0-3) and the second cycle (3-6).

The team is multidisciplinary and includes early childhood education technicians, Montessori guides, and specialists in early attention and neuropsychology. The center specializes in educational neuropsychology: it assesses students through specific tests and develops intervention programs tailored to their needs. Among its services are a cafeteria with its own kitchen and balanced menus, emphasizing fruits and vegetables and incorporating dishes from other cultures; school transport; and extended hours or early bird services allowing entry from 06:30 and exit until 18:00, over a regular schedule of 09:00 to 17:00. The center remains open twelve months a year, closing only on local, national, and regional holidays, and maintains its activities in August with offerings such as swimming and games. It also organizes summer camps and no-school days, and provides accompaniment and pickup services from other educational centers, babysitting staff, and weekend night care.

The family is considered a pillar of the center and actively participates in its daily life through a parents' school, workshops, and talks on education and parenting, in a framework of transparency and openness to family contributions. The center has an automated external defibrillator (AED) and provides families with the necessary documentation and information to apply for the scholarship from the Community of Madrid.
