I.E.S. Cinca-Alcanadre

I.E.S. Cinca-Alcanadre is a public secondary school located in Alcolea de Cinca that offers compulsory secondary education (ESO) and post-compulsory education in Bachillerato (upper secondary, ages 16–18) and vocational training (FP). In the secondary stage, it includes all four years of ESO and the second year of the Learning and Performance Improvement Program (P.M.A.R.). The teaching activities are organized through departments such as Technology, Geography and History, Classical Culture, Biology and Geology, Physics and Chemistry, Economics, Philosophy, Music, Physical Education, or Plastic, Visual and Audiovisual Education, among others.

The center develops complementary and extracurricular activities, and from different subjects, it promotes educational projects. From the Technology department, students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ESO work with mechanisms for the transmission and transformation of movement and carry out projects such as a gearbox. From Classical Culture in 3rd ESO, students create maps about the classical world of Rome as part of a school competition. From the Geography and History department, a research project is carried out on the historical origin and geographical location of the municipalities in the province. Additionally, the center has a library and reading promotion activities, school exchanges, study trips, and its own magazine.

I.E.S. Cinca-Alcanadre has support resources for families and students and participates in programs to improve coexistence and prevent bullying, such as the AUNA Program and peer tutoring. It also addresses the prevention of gender and sexual violence and develops plans for the transition between Primary and ESO stages.
