Escola Els Pins

Escola Els Pins is a public school in Barcelona, located in the Nou Barris district, presenting itself as a school for everyone and open to the community. It offers Early Childhood Education and Primary Education, with groups organized by grade and with unique names: in Early Childhood, Les Formigues, Les Abelles, and Les Papallones; in Primary, Els Núvols, Els Icebergs, Les Gal·làxies, Les Piràmides, Els Volcans, and Els Diamants. The center operates in Catalan, Spanish, and English; in the English area of Primary, it uses the "learning stations" methodology, with small groups rotating through different activities to practice vocabulary and grammatical structures autonomously and cooperatively.

Throughout the school year, the center develops outings and complementary activities. Second-grade students went on a trip to the Mataró forest park to collect plants and create a herbarium, and they also wrote stories in groups for Sant Jordi. Early Childhood Education students participated in a camp at Can Mas, with outdoor proposals and farm activities. The second-grade groups participated in a dance activity at the Palau de Sant Jordi. As part of the Espais Oberts project, fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade students design and create their own board games, writing the rules and objectives for each game. The center also celebrates Carnival with the whole community, and the sixth-grade group prepares the open house days. The center also publishes information regarding the pre-registration process and the availability of places.
